Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

(updated 9/16/22)

The International Society for Research on Internet interventions (ISRII) is 100% committed to hold its 11th Scientific Conference as an in-person conference on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh, September 18-21, 2022.

Is there a Vaccination Policy for ISRII ’11?

Yes, at this time we require all attendees to be fully vaccinated.  We do not currently require a booster as part of this requirement. We will ask attendees to upload proof of their vaccinations prior to the conference.

Please note that all non-immigrant, non-U.S. citizen air travelers to the United States are required to be fully vaccinated and to provide proof of vaccination status prior to boarding an airplane to the United States. Read more here.

What does “fully vaccinated” mean?

“Fully vaccinated” is defined as a person who has received the full dosage regimen of a vaccine authorized for emergency and/or full use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or by the World Health Organization, at least 2 weeks prior to the first day of the Conference. For the ISRII 11, this means attendees must have received the final vaccine dosage no later than September 10, 2022.

Is there a Mask Policy for ISRII ’11?

The CDC has changed Allegheny County’s COVID-19 Community Level from “High” to “Medium”. As a result, pursuant to University of Pittsburgh policy, masks are optional on the Pittsburgh campus. Still, we encourage ISRII 11 participants, with the exception of eating and drinking and giving oral presentations to wear a mask to reduce the risk of contracting or spreading COVID, especially since many of us have traveled a great distance to attend the Conference from locations that may be of higher community level. For more information about mask guidance, visit the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) website.

What if my institution/country has a travel ban that prohibits me from attending the Conference?

Should your home institution or country prohibit you from traveling to Pittsburgh to attend the conference in September, please contact our team with details and we will issue a refund of your registration less ISRII’s annual membership dues.  Notification must happen prior to 9/1/22.

My paper/workshop/symposia/software demo was accepted to ISRII 11, but my institution/country has a travel ban that prohibits me from attending the Conference in person?  Please contact our team with details and we will try to make accommodations for you to present remotely by video.  We will also issue you a 50% refund of your registration fee less ISRII’s annual membership dues.
